 There’s been a notable rise in fire incidents in Baguio lately.

Except for those suspiciously recurring fires in the city market, somehow so far we’ve been lucky no major fire has struck nearer to the Central Business District yet.

Did you notice many of our fire hydrants have disappeared? I never understood why. There used to be one on every street corner when I was young boy growing up in this city in the 60s and 70s.
So when I saw this old one in Camp John Hay, I just had to take a totally artless photo of it. Just because.*






 There is art everywhere, all around you. But sometimes we simply miss them for being focused more on the hustle and bustle of city life.

Even I didn’t realize these wrought iron plantboxes wrapped around the main poles of Session Road’s center island street lamp posts are a thing of humble "Euro-esque" beauty.
